Delete your VietLingo account

VietLingo's core features (flashcard decks, review, progress) work entirely offline and require no account. Cloud sync is an optional feature that uses a sign-in with your email address. This page explains how to delete that account and its associated cloud data.

How to request deletion

1. Send an email to hanniboy@gmail.com with the subject "Delete VietLingo account", from the email address you used to sign in to VietLingo.
2. We will delete your account and all associated cloud data within 7 days and confirm by email.

What gets deleted

Your account (email address), your password hash and login tokens, and any decks, cards, and review history stored on our cloud sync server are permanently deleted. The server is hosted in the European Union (Hetzner). We do not retain backups beyond routine short-term database backups, which are purged on their normal rotation schedule (max 30 days).

What stays on your device

VietLingo also stores your decks and review history locally on your device, independent of any account. Deleting your cloud account does not erase local data — uninstall the app or clear its data to remove that.
